Family Saturdays x Ports Fest

Join us for a special Family Saturdays, coinciding with the return of Ports Fest 2024!

In the run up to Ports Fest, our creative engagement team will be hosting a series of Family Saturdays sessions in preparation for the big Mardi Gras Parade on Saturday 29 June.

We will be creating our own masks and props, inspired by climate change and its impact on our future – will we need to filter the air we breathe, or might we be living underwater with the sea creatures which will inspire our koinobori style wands. With resources likely to be running short, humans will need to reuse and recycle more than ever and we will create these items from whatever we can source.

The sessions will take place on Saturday 15 and Saturday 22 June, from 11am-1pm

Family Saturdays is free to attend and all materials are provided (suggested donation £3 per family)

Ports Fest Mardi Gras Parade

You can find our creative engagement team at Ports Fest on Albert Road from 3pm on Saturday 29 June.

At this special offsite Family Saturdays event, you’ll have the opportunity to create your own props and join the procession.
