Touch Tour, The Platform Graduate Award 2023

Led by Visual Artist and Artist Educator Jo Bresslof, who has over 15 years experience in art education for people with sight loss, this tour will take participants on an exploration of The Platform Graduate Award 2023.

Through tactile investigation, detailed descriptions and discussion, participants will handle selected artworks to provide a deeper understanding of the artist experience, mediums and key themes presented in the exhibition.

About the exhibition

The Platform Graduate Award 2023 presents the work of 10 artists launching their artistic careers following graduation. Part of a regional initiative established by CVAN South East (Contemporary Visual Arts Network South East) in 2012, Platform aims to support emerging talent at a key moment of transition.

Aspex Portsmouth’s artists for 2023 include: Karl Bailey (University of Portsmouth), Mia Bilbeisi (UCA Farnham), Mia Blake (University of Portsmouth), Harrison Jones (Winchester School of Art), Leilani June (Arts University Bournemouth), Georgia Menear (Solent University), Rabia Raja (Arts University Bournemouth), Luke Wateridge (Solent University), Freya Watson (UCA Farnham), Ren Woolridge (Winchester School of Art).

Accessibility at Aspex

The entrance to Aspex Portsmouth is at ground level. There are slightly uneven cobbles on the approach surrounding the Vulcan Building.

Inside Aspex, the exhibition space, cafe, shop, artist’s studio and learning space are all on the ground floor and offer step-free access.

We welcome assistance dogs into the gallery.
