Art Invisible

Art Invisible offers a dedicated studio and a programme of support for artists with learning disabilities. Located in Emsworth and run by The Right to Work CIC, it enables artists to explore their creativity, develop their practice, and share their work with wider audiences in the contemporary art world.

For many artists, conventional routes into art education and employment have been limited or non-existent. Art Invisible works to open these pathways, providing sustained support, professional development, and opportunities to exhibit. The programme enables artists to grow in confidence, pursue ambitious projects, and for some, build careers as professional creatives, gaining recognition and in some cases, a meaningful income from their work.

This body of work brings together seven original artworks by seven artists from Art Invisible. Working in paint, watercolour, pen, and mixed media, each piece reflects the individuality and imagination nurtured within the studio. Together, they offer a glimpse into the rich and diverse practices of Art Invisible’s artists.

Through its work, Art Invisible challenges the historic underrepresentation of artists with learning disabilities in the mainstream art world. By providing space, support, and visibility, the programme ensures that these artists’ voices are heard, their work celebrated, and their contribution to contemporary practice fully recognised. It is a reminder that talent and creativity flourish when barriers are removed and opportunities are made accessible to all.
