Salary: £18-20K pro rata

Job summary: To work closely with the Director to programme, fundraise and deliver exhibitions, projects, residencies, associated events, on and off-site and contribute fully to audience development. To lead the development of the Artist Associates programme, working closely with the freelance Artist Advisor.
We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic individual with a passion for contemporary visual art, experience of working with artists and a ‘can do’ attitude to join our committed team.
This is a crucial role with key responsibility for the development, organisation and delivery of all aspects of the exhibition and residency programmes, together with the provision of support for our Artists Associates.
Aspex is a creative hub for the region - supporting emerging artists and revealing the creative process. Located in the Vulcan Building at Gunwharf Quays - a premium retail outlet, with restaurants and cafes on the waterfront at Portsmouth Harbour - the gallery also delivers our programme and special projects at other sites in and around the city. The gallery is a training organisation which provides development and training opportunities for all staff.
The successful candidate taking up the post of Curator/Programme Manager will be joining us at an extremely exciting period, following our recent capital development and confirmation of ACE NPO funding through to 2022, and will have the unique opportunity to contribute to the organisation’s further development.
