In celebration of this year's International Women's Day we are hosting a special drop in workshop, where you can create your own zine, remembering tomorrow and stories and poems from the future.
Inspired by our season's theme of Transformation, local artist Abi Gilchrist will lead us to consider how a more positive representation of women will impact on our lives and surroundings.
Using collage we will cut and paste our own illustrated zines, sourcing material from found text and imagery to create stories, poems and messages for the future.
Looking at some of the questions below:
The City- how will it change?
Buildings - where will we live?
Technology - how has it advanced?
Education - what will schools teach?
Society - how will governments be structured?
We will illustrate our response to our transforming world, particularly considering and celebrating the role of women in this.
The workshop is drop-in and will take place on Sunday 8 March, 13.00 - 15.00hrs. You can join the session at any time.
This event is free, and open to all ages. The activity is aimed at young people, aged 13+. Children under the ages of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
