Luna Park

Find Luna Park at its new home on the newly redeveloped Southsea seafront.

I stand for language. I speak for history. I shout for truth. is a public artwork by internationally renowned artists Ivan Morison and Heather Peak of Studio Morison. The work was created as a lasting tribute to their iconic 53-foot-high 2010 artwork Luna Park, affectionately known by local residents as “The Southsea Dinosaur”, which was tragically destroyed by fire on Southsea Common.

The public artwork features a bronze sculpture of the original Luna Park set atop a fossil Portland stone plinth, standing at a total height of 1.4 metres. Created as an homage to the original artwork, the piece carries the many memories of Luna Park and its enduring place in Portsmouth’s history.

I stand for language. I speak for history. I shout for truth. was commissioned by Aspex Portsmouth through donations from individuals via Crowdfunder, with support from the National Lottery through Arts Council England and Portsmouth City Council.
